THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON NATURE

“There is a beautiful world outside of our screens.”

My hope is that nobody ever reads this paragraph.  I hope that you are outdoors and not staring at your screen.  Because if you’ve stumbled across this site… and managed to surf over to this page… that means you have been surfing the web far too long.  Time to get outdoors!

Sharing my love of photography is cool… but nothing is better than seeing people outdoors enjoying nature… feeding their mind, body and soul.  Motivating people to get outdoors and seek some natural beauty is what I enjoy the most.

Images are just one way in this day and age for me to share the light I see in the world.  For better or worse, our world is becoming dependent on technology.  I love Amazon and Netflix as much as the next person… but it is obvious we are looking down at our screens way too much.  It is time to look up.  These places you see here on this site are real and can be seen in person.  It is always better in person.  Go and see!

From Nat Geo’s incredible article entitled, “This is Your Brain on Nature:”  (In 1798, sitting on the banks of the River Wye, William Wordsworth marveled at how “an eye made quiet by the power / of harmony” offered relief from “the fever of the world.”)  If the hustle and bustle of the technological advances of the 1790’s were tough… how much more do we need it now?!

Over the past 10 years of leading groups outdoors… there has been a reoccurring theme that applies to all people of all religions.  Check out this wisdom from Wisdom 13:5:

“From the greatness and beauty of created things comes a corresponding view of their creator.”

Greatness and beauty are indeed out there!

It may help to turn off the news that makes more advertising revenue off drama than positivity.   We tend to find what we are looking for.  If you are on a quest for greatness and beauty like I am… you will find it.

“There is a time to be plugged in and a time to unplug.”
